Hello All, I have two short blocks available. As far as I know, they have never been run. they rotate freely, and make the appropriate intake and exhaust sounds, but that is the extent of my knowledge on the subject. Some photos attached, and I'll be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Items are located in Southern California, and I cannot offer free shipping, but will work with you to get them where they need to go. RE5 Rotary Pics.pdf (459.77 KB) Please message me if interested.

Yup, a rare find indeed! Haven't seen any of these pop up for a while. It is amazing what you can find though- a few years back I found two complete motors (proper, gearbox, starter, carby, radiator, oil cooler etc) in Sacramento! Shipping down under was a killer but still worth it!
Good luck to the buyers and thanks to Phil for posting up.

Phil, if I may just add how generous and considered it is that Suzuki America thought to offer these to an enthusiast's site.
They could have easily been thrown in the company dumpster or perhaps advertised somewhere where they wouldn't be appreciated. I think you and the company can be assured that regardless of who on the board got them, they'll be in the hands of a genuine enthusiast and that they will be utilised.
Thanks to you and Suzuki America, it's an amazing example of corporate............it's hard to find the right word, but humanity springs to mind.

YUp, what Wayne said. Now then, Suzuki Australia....![/i][/font] Welcome and thanks phactoryphil, I've been expounding of Suzukis emphasis on helping to keep parts available for much longer than the norm since I joined the club in 1975 and became RE5 chairman. We all loved the retro RE5 Ad in the recent Suzuki Dealers magazine. In that same issue were the wonderful California road trips. Did you have any input for that ?? Tim Johnston

Tim,
I'm a humble service guy, so do not have any input into advertising concepts.
As to the overall availability of spare parts, there is a continual struggle to balance slow-moving "obsolete" parts (with their consumption of warehouse space and inventory valuation burdens), against the possibility that someone might need them to keep a legacy machine running. Parts is always looking to scrap stuff, and we resist as much as possible with the end user in mind. Sometimes we're the windshield, sometimes the bug, but that's the way of the world, isn't it.
h2e, we also struggle with what we can and can't cover. If the distributors cover failures and defects (anyone know the difference?) that are not covered by the main office in Japan, they get stuck with the bill. This is great for CS, but not as good for the bottom line. NOT saying that all decisions are based on the almighty dolla', but those decisions need to be made more carefully.
Phil
