So, I decided to take one of my petcocks apart to perform the diaphragm mod on my regular rider. It started developing an attitude after about an hour of run time, it would die and then restart after sitting a while. I noted the ff was empty when this happened. Anywho... All of the gaskets in the 'spare' are shot. I read several threads on work around's and have questions to clarify things. One post started out with a pic and stated the late model GT750 (74-77) fit with a small amount of filing. Halfway down it said GS750. I assume this to be a typo since the GS was either a 650 or 850. Or, will a GS petcock fit as well? Second, someone said the internals were the same. If this is true, why replace the whole thing? Why not just order the soft parts and fix it? I've ordered 3 different thicknesses of Viton (Bun-B) gasket material to make gaskets for mine since I have NOS soft parts to copy. I don't mind making them, but if I don't have too.... I'd just like to keep it OE.

So I found there was a GS back then. lol A little before my time. Well, I was 6. lol I received my Viton gasket material yesterday and it's much softer than the stock material with the added bonus of being designed for fuel system usage. I'll update after testing.
