The W2000 isn't as fast as the RE5 nor does it have the long range touring abilities of the RE5, but I generally enjoy riding the W2000 more than the RE5. The W2000 runs without all the drama of the RE5, i.e., no flat spots in the rev range, no strange vibration at about 3500rpm and no overly complication carb and port vavle adjustment procedure. (The W2000 has a side port which does away with the port valve.) The bike is extremely simple with no oil to change in the sump or to add to the injection tank (the bike runs premix). The only oil to change is the tranny and I use ATF in this KTM gearbox. The bike is light, around 400lbs or less, handles well and is a joy to ride, as you can tell I enjoy lighter bikes more than the heavy weights. If you find one buy it, Sam has all the parts, he may even have a better inventory of W2000 parts than RE5 parts

Did anyone notice the helmet resting on the carrier, try revving a two stroke like that and the helmet will be long gone.

Wow, less than 400 lbs. I figured it would be a tank. I like it. It's one of the most unique cycles I have ever seen. I didn't notice the helmet on the back Allan. Talk about no vibration. Must be a heck of a comfortable ride. Geesh, I had the word bair (purposely misspelled) in my first post and we get some stupid advertising that we definitely don't want here. I took the word out of the first post so that stuff will cease. Some of you might have seen the same ad that I dd.

The Hercules is tiny! Sitting next to the RE5 they look like little toys.

Rode my w-2000 today...
What a fun, charming little bike. Probably not suited for interstate travel. but what a wonderful backroads bike.
For all you rotorheads out there... If you ever get a chance to ride or buy... definately worth the price of admission.
Anyone wishing a test ride before purchase, If you are my neck of the woods (souhtern middle Tn), I will happily provide one on mine.
Best,
Jess

Jess i can see all the virtures of the W2000 being a rotary and all, BUT that styling, or lack of it just doesnt do it for me. Somehow the biggest eyesore is the look of the engine, sort of like a longditudal finned pod just hanging there, that and the skinny diameter tubing of the frame just looks mismatched. I know its probably a nice overal package but ill stick with my heavy, large and spaceship styled RE5.

I like it because it's different and unique. I agree as far as looks go it isn't a thing of beauty but it sure is a one of a kind. I would buy one if I ever found one.

Electrolux indeed, now you come to think of it the front part of the engine looks like a canister vacuum cleaner from the 70s. I wouldn't refuse a ride on one, but as for buying one??? nahhh ive got too much other junk already.

Thanks meat! It is very interesting to me to place the suzuki and hercules side by side and ponder just how differently the japanese and germans approached the problem. Really a fun little bike to ride... I enjoy her a whole bunch. Best, Jess
