Looking for in the UK a usable RE5 does not have to shine like a overpolisted new on but just be fully working and with MOT if in the UK willing to import if required based in Leicester UK Have a good read of the forum first, you will be buying a bike with no company spares support, few new old stock spares and the price of second hand parts that are out there seem to be gold plated the prices that are being charged for them. You will also have to be the mechanic and electrician as well as the rider as experts in this model are few and far between, there are a couple of people in the uk who have rebuilt proper units, lack of spares is allways a problem. Thats the doom and gloom over with, you will be joining a dedicated family of RE5 owners who help each other when ever possible and share tips and fixes, welcome to the forum and good luck with your search. Avoid, engine turns over easy with good compression, the engine does not turn over easily using the kickstart. Avoid, weather seized. Avoid, it ran before I stored it. If possible get a compression test on the bike you are buying, read the forum on what is ok bearing in mind that a new bike had compresion of about 135 psi and an engine will run at about 85psi but wont do much. REgards Stuart.
