I had taken the inlet/outlet water pump cover off ages ago. It the one thats held on by 3 bolts with p/n 02112-06208. Now on my bike there was 2 hex bolts and one Allen key bolt. Checking the part number gave a philips headed bolt!.
So my question is which type of bolt is correct for the top outlet cover of the water pump..... hex/allen/philips. All I know is that its supposed to be 20mm long.
Thanks Nairb

Nairb,
All models used Phillips. Be sure the bypass port is completely clean when installing.

Well thats a surprise. I thought the smart money was on hex bolts.... So 3 stainless Philips bolts are the way forward. And without a washer too. I wonder why suzuki chose Philips over hex.
Thanks Nairb

They chose phillips so that owners forty years later can curse them as they struggle with rounded off pieces of shrapnel that they have to cut slots in, drill out and break off trying to extract. I replaced all of mine with stainless cap screws.
Hex heads won't fit inside many of the bolt holes in the covers.
