Hi
My RE5 has 125 psi on all 3 lobes - When cold it`s slow starting, but when it´s running it´s running perfect Once it`s has normal operating temperature and I switch it off, then I start it again after a minute, it seems there is coming "steam" out of the pipes - just the first 5-10 seconds or so.
Any suggestions ?
Kim

Steam or oil smoke? Oil smoke would be fine, steam would be a concern. If it runs at normal temperature, there aren't bubbles coming up in the coolant filler neck and it doesn't lose coolant I probably wouldn't be overly concerned.

You could try doing a coolant system pressure test- but it requires the correct tool- something your local mechanic should have.

I wouldn't worry about it either as long as you are running the proper coolant. Coolant is a great insulator and the plug will be the first to short out. edit, Still best to pressure test.

Further description of that might be helpful, too
Any update?

Kim Are you loosing water through the pressure release overflow pipe ? ( Filler neck pipe that runs under fuel tank and exits under battery/swinging arm) If your engine is pressurizing you maybe loosing water this way without noticing as it steams out under the bike , I had this some years ago for a few thousand miles and kept topping up coolant until the unit failed due to cracked housing, Spark plug was always very clean as was the unit when I spit it ( Steam cleaned ) I hope this is not the case with your unit.
