Hi, There is a RE5 - deemed in perfect condition - with 20 000 km for sale at 6990 € since some time in France. Sounds like a pretty good deal. Apparently nobody sees this ad because the bike is called RE-5 and not RE5 ...And I have to refrain myself to buy another one ! Here is the link in case someone is interested : www.leboncoin.fr/motos/802546307.htm?ca=3_sBest regards

Please excuse my overly cautious entry but if it is not a runner now, please take every precaution before starting.
It sure looks super

Thanks for the advice, it's a runner but nevertheless I will first restart with premix before to be sur that everything is working OK. I take a lot of time to read that board which is a true golden-mine.

Hi,
I immediately noticed the disappearance of the announcement. I'm glad to hear about the new owner!
If you have some problems or questions, need some tool, do not hesitate to contact us, Jivaro or myself via PM. After two years on my personal RE5 we became somewhat specialists!
You can view our presentation just before yours in the "Members, cycles and videos" board.
We are now - at least - to french members, and would be happy to meet you.

Hi,
thanks for the proposal. I will be happy to see this bike I had to force myself not to buy!
I have also an advice concerning the oil circuit for new owners. It's a good idea to begin withe premix in the tank as you know, but there is another problem. The oil check valve near the carburetor is very often leaking, which causes an abundant blue smoke at start up; and then the engine gets no more oil during the time the oil pipe fills again.
I think that Jess has some check valves for repair. On my bike I had an old Jess leaky check valve (they are somewhat different from the original ones). So, my check valve has been changed at least two times...
Best regards
