Hi all, in the centre of the secondary throat of the carburetor there is a cast alloy centre piece that is removable. Does it have any air or fuel ports in it? Does it need to be removed when cleaning the carburetor? Or is it just there for ventury effect?

Allen,
There is no reason to remove the Venturi. It was set on a flow bench at the factory, so it is difficult if not impossible to get it back in correctly.
The ONLY way to properly clean the carburetor is with an ultrasonic cleaner.

Thanks Jess, I have put the carburetor in a ultrasonic cleaner and it did a great job, I used turps as the solution as recommended by an aircraft mechanic and it was remarkable the amount of debris that was in the bottom of the cleaner tank when it finnished. I cleaned it again manually with air and carby cleaner when it came out of the cleaner.
I had cleaned the carburetor manually first with carby cleaner, jet picks and compressed air. I checked all passages for flow with carby cleaner and air before it went into the ultrasonic cleaner. Now to put it back together, set the angles Ect and see what happens.
As a point of interest I had used the ultrasonic cleaner before with water as the solution, but with turps you can actually see the cleaning action happening and the oxygen bubbles forming, coming out of all passages Ect and doing their cleaning work.
When looking at the carburetor mounting face and at the primary port, what is the passage at about 10 o'clock? And where does it go to. Below that passage at about 8 o'clock another passage has a small jet in it, from what I can see it is 150. Is this the correct size?
The secondary primary air jet consists of two jets? One on top of the other, Can anyone give me the correct sizes? Kind Regards Allen

Allen,[/quote] The parts book we have in resources should answer your jet sizes. Your 10o'clock reference may be the vacuum source for the secondary diaphragm drive.google.com/file/d/0B2v7musDaPbLZnp0Q2I5blVGaGc/edit?pli=1Please find page 7 in the Suzuki parts book and approximately page 35 after it loads the pages. This should help. Thanks again to Crit. Timpa136

Thanks for the tip on the parts book, yes it does have the jet sizes. The passage at 8 o'clock with the jet in it is a vacuume passage, still to answer what the passage at 10 o'clock as you look at the carburetor mounting face is.
