Had to wait some 20 years until my friend wanted to sell his barn RE5. Still restoring it and now discovered 10 Suzuki rotary's. Anyone on the board interested in the pics?

those bikes dont look worth saving,to save you the hassle of disposing of them.i will pay for transportation of them to my home address.LOL thats a find of a lifetime, over here in the uk a major re5 find is someone who remembers them.

Great to see all those bikes but I gotta ask, were they in that substandard state when they were gathered?? Seems a shame that they have been left to rot.

Great to see all those bikes but I gotta ask, were they in that substandard state when they were gathered?? Seems a shame that they have been left to rot. They were gathered some 1O years ago by a person who wanted to restore them to keep them on the road. They are very rare in Belgium (only a handfull),you would sooner see an UFO than an RE5.They were stored in a dry and heated garage until I and a friend had the opportunity to buy them at a reasonable price. They are really not that bad. (many parts like mirrors , turn signal/rear combination lamp lenses ,sidepanels, radiator grilles, combination meters were detached to prevent them from damage.) We will try to save as much bikes as possible , the others are spare bikes.

when you have sifted thru all the stuff see if there is an engine assembly spare.only need a bare unit with distributor & water pump.i have an alloy gsxr rolling chassis & a cunning plan.

Oh dear. Does it involve a turnip? Could be an interesting bike!

no root vegetables will be harmed if it all goes to plan.i bought my re to use & enter a couple of classic sprints hill climbs etc.however the chassis dynamics are not really up to it & i the bike is better than i expected, hence i dont want to hack it about.i bought it as a none runner missing parts, however it turned up with a box of parts which completed the bike .i work in a bike breakers & there are a few suitable chassis knocking about .they are modern so i wont mind hacking them about etc.

when you have sifted thru all the stuff see if there is an engine assembly spare.only need a bare unit with distributor & water pump.i have an alloy gsxr rolling chassis & a cunning plan. We promised the previous owner to keep them in the Rotary NSU and RE5 club and try to restore as many as possible..I will keep the red one and Michel S. the co-owner of the collection the mint blue one. Some will be sold(firts among members of the club) to recover some of the invested money but buyers have to give their word not to disassemble them and sell the parts. Others will be used as spare bikes. We will check all bikes to make sure they are "runners" ...We already receive numerous posts and mails for spare parts but that is not our intention . There are 2 accidented bikes though with good engines....Surely good news for RR as our members will surely need parts to restore their bikes.... Please mark that I am rather Dutch speaking (Belgium) ... You also can see more pics on my facebook account (Fonny Theunissen)

Very, very nice! The link works fine for me but Photobucket can be funky at times. Maybe I missed it but did you just buy the two or did you buy all ten? Anyway.... congratulations. I love barn find stories. You always feel so great when you are hauling them home and then your wife finds out.

We wanted to buy only the two(on the trailer) but the owner only wanted to sell the whole collection. All together 4 maybe 5 bikes are good enough to be saved and return to the place where they belong...on the road. I bought them together with a good friend and Rotary expert (He also owns an NSU RO80 in mint condition and a Hercules wankel) We both will keep one bike and the other good ones will be sold to regain some of the invested money.
