Hello All, This year on Sunday the 15th of September will see the 37th annual classic bike meeting held in OOstende, Belgium. It is available to all classic bike manufactured before 1975 and usually atracts around 350 people from all across Europe. See Link. www.veteranentreffenoostende.be I have been about 15 time before on various machines and even won best in class 3 time, sorry not on rotaries. The last time I went was three years ago on my 1978 DKW W2000 which was actually too young to be entered into the prize section. I wasn't turned away and there is documented evidence that all DKW / Hercules were actually made prior to this cut off date and stock piled only being registered when sold to the dealers so I was officially within date but nothing was said. A small entry fee is paid entitling you to coffee, lunch, beer and ice cream plus a route map. The route which is usually around 100 miles or there abouts with plenty of stops for refreshment is attended by marshals which close the road to other traffic at junctions allowing us to stay and ride together and has at least 3 vans with trailers to collect or fix any broken down bikes on the way (for no charge) with an awards ceremony in the evening. Last year Roland on his very fine Blue RE5 was present along with some great bikes dating back to 1908. Look forward to seeing you there. Regards, Joe.
