Here is a piece from the link about 2009 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days in Ohio. Didn't know if anyone else will be there for part or all week-end. I'm going and planing to camp on the grounds. Lets keep in touch and meet up. Ride your motorcycle into history January 27, 2009 Email Print The AMA will celebrate its 85th Anniversary in 2009, and you can join in the fun. The AMA’s Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is looking for a few good motorcycles—at least one from every year the Association has been in existence—for a special parade at the 2009 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. And if you have a motorcycle that fits our list, we’d love to have you join us as a member of this special parade. We have scanned the 1924 to 2009 history of motorcycles and selected those motorcycles we feel are significant. A machine may make the list for what it meant in that very moment, (say, the Suzuki RE-5, the first rotary-engined motorcycle from Japan), www.motorcyclemuseum.org/news/story.asp?id=577

Vintage Motorcycle Days are 2 weeks away! I will be there. If any one else is going we can meet up. Also it is my 1st time going and here it is big, big event. If any one has been there before and has any advise to navigate through the week-end, I'm all ears.
Hope to see you there.

I wonder if Dave (aerologic) will be there?

I don't seem to check the "Meets and Gatherings" forum much, but thanks for asking! I've been traveling a ton for work in July (traveling for work for me comes in spurts) and while I'll be done traveling for work, I'll be heading out to Ohio University for orientation for my daughter who will be a freshman. So no VMD for me. It's probably only 90 minutes away.
The RE-5 is still in the paint shop but the CBX is running well. The paint guy is S*L*O*W.

When I sign in I usually click the view the most recent messages link from the home page. That way I usually don't miss anything. Someday we will set up a get together somewhere. Even if there were only 4 or 5 RE5's, I think it would be quite cool.

Hey Ron, if you are going there from Massachusetts, I would say there is a good chance you will be going right by my house if you are taking the NYS Thruway. I'm about a mile off the thruway. 5 minutes and you are at my place from the exit. If that is the case, let me know if you have time to stop in.

I am most likely leaving Wed. morning 7/22/09. I'm going to try to get to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for Thursday. I do not need to be back to work until Friday 7/31/09. So there is some flexibility. Let me know where you live and when your around.

Replied to your pm Ron. I was hoping to go to Indianapolis on 7/30 but it looks like I won't be able to go unless a miracle happens. I'm probably going to be taking vacation on your return week so if I don't go to Indy I will definitely be here.

Turns out that Ron lives less than a 4 hour ride from me. We talked on the phone yesterday. I am guessing that he has gone by my place by now on the way to Ohio. He is taking his goldwing there. The weather is very nice here now so he is probably having a very enjoyable ride. I hope to meet Ron on the way back but if that doesn't work out we will definitely be getting together in the future. We could easily meet half way on a ride on our RE5's. That would be sooooo cool. Ron's a really good guy and I am glad that he is a member of the board.

Well, Ron will be coming back this way today. I have a lot going on today but am hoping we work out a meet. Because he might be stopping in, that gave me the initiative to uncover my RE5 to see how it looks. I'm glad that I did. It looked ok but not good enough to show someone so I washed it which was a big improvement and started to polish it up. It looks much better now and will look better yet as I polish and buff it more. Now I have a big urge to get this bike on the road. If I get to meet Ron today I'm going to try to get a few pictures.

I'm riding up today - planning on arriving 7:30~8:00pm. I'm camping at the track in the new family camping area which is off to the right as you enter and not that far from the demo ride area I'm told.
I was really disappointed in the forecast at first but since I've got a really long trip planned for next year a little hard rain would help to test out the new riding and camping gear.
Perhaps the forecast scared off campers (or the rumored reduction in number of race classes) since I got my camping reservation made just yesterday. Last year camping sold out weeks in advance. I was going to camp about 15~20 minutes away where I camped last year but the price went up from $14 a night to $25 a night. Camping at the track is $30 for the whole weekend.
