im looking into getting some re5 seats made.the base will be in grp not metal,they will cost about £125 each for the first batch as a special offer plus shipping.the minimum order is 10 complete seats,if any one is interested once i get 10 people interested i will get them made and will put a pic of finished item on here,im prepared to stand the cost of getting them made so im not asking for a deposit just peoples interest in getting them done regards mike

Mike, I would be interested in a seat based on what you're trying to achieve. Are you making new covers or using the currently availabe AM ones ? Are you cutting new foam and will there be an attempt at exact copies or is this seat just going to be a practical replacement ?

the seat will be an exact copy taken from 1 of my seats,the cover foam and base will all be brand new the only difference will be that the base is grp not metal,it will come with bolts already fitted so all you would need to do is put your own hinges and seat latch on to them regards mike

That would be glass reinforced plastic, commonly known in the States as fiberglass. Weight reduction anyone?

hiya martin once he has tooled up to make them he should be able to supply seat covers and foams,i have 5 interested in seats so another couple to go as i will keep 3 for mine and will get them ordered regards mike

Mike, I also want to order 1 complete seat. I am also interrested i 2 more sets of foams and covers, I have 2 seat pans that are OK, but the foams are long time gone on both.

close enough to get the ball rolling i will ship my seat to him this week and hopefully should have pics posted up in about 2 weeks time and will be able to send any one some high resolution pics by email regards mike

quick update my original seat is now on its way to the seat man so he can take a mold from it,hopefully within the next 2 weeks the first 10 will be ready and he is also prepared to supply me with new foams and new covers.will post on progress as and when i find out regards mike

Hi Gary Is the base OK on your seat? If so, RK Leightons in Birmingham www.rk-leighton.co.uk/ do marvelous restorations and repairs. Mine was done for about £115 which included welding up the base.
