When i worked for Suzuki in the '70's it was standard when we sold a bike, GT 380, 550, 750 or RE5, to change the tyres have the discs drilled and fit bronze swing arm bushes, it was so common it almost became part of the pre delivery check.

Wow, that was service ! It was standard to toss the tyres and the bars as soon as you got the bike but you had to do that yourself.
